Cannock L1s 0 - 3 Trojans
Cannock 1s hosted trojans who are top of the league on goal difference so knew they would be in for a tough battle. It was touch and go as to whether the game would go ahead when a hail/snow storm covered the pitch and lines.
The game started and trojans as expected were out the blocks hard immediately piling pressure on the Cannock team. An early goal from trojans saw them go 1-0 before getting a second from a short corner before half time.
Cannock pushed on despite the elements being against them and worked hard to try and break trough trojans press. Unfortunately Cannock created few chances and trojans soon bagged their third.
A hearty performance by the team despite them being unable to feel their hands for the majority of the game but it finished Cannock 0 trojans 3

Cannock L2s 1 - 9 Nottingham University
Cannock ladies 2nd team faced Nottingham uni students in a mid week David and Goliath clash! Nottingham are undefeated all season and 3 points to day would secure them the league winners. Cannock started strong with some good possession of the ball, Nottingham’s quick paced counter attack lead to a one goal
Lead early in the first half. Cannock quickly retaliated with a well taken reverse shot from Bethan Till. Cannock were then placed under lots of pressure with a pacey forward line leading to another goal for Nottingham. Bethan Till was millimetres from an equaliser moments later when the keeper was beaten but cleared off he line with some last ditch defending by Nottingham. End to end Hockey saw Nottingham sink 2 more past cannock before half time. Half time score 4-1.
Both teams came out fighting with some big tackles flying in from both sides. Nottingham’s clinical finish was too much for cannock and 2 reverse shot goals flew past the defences ears. Nottingham then had a sleight of over 20 short corners and converted just 2 of these. The final goal looked to have been taken out side of the D but cannocks calls fell on deaf ears. A very tough game but an extremely resilient performance from Cannock second team. Final score 9-1.

Cannock L3s 6 - 0 Barton
Cannock Ladies there’s entered a must win match, against Barton, for them to secure second place on a frozen Saturday morning at their home pitch. After a few very slow opening minutes and many attempts at goal, cannock had failed to score any goals. However, in the last ten minutes of the first half, Cannock managed to score two goals.
The second half began and Cannock maintained possession in Barton’s half and managed to finish off the game, Vicky Wilkes & Jenna Martin getting 3 goals each. POM Vicky Wilkes

Cannock L4s 0 - 1 Stafford 2s
Cannock ladies 4s travelled to Stafford 2s who are sitting comfortably at top of the table. Despite the awful weather Cannock started strongly surprising Stafford and quickly won a short corner. Top D strike by man of the match Courtney Hill was heading straight for the bottom corner but was intercepted at the last minute. First half finished 0-0.
Stafford came out strongly with the Cannock defence soaking up everything that was thrown at them. 10 mins from the end Stafford were awarded a controversial goal with the Cannock team believing the ball didn't enter the goal and merely hit the netting on the outside of the goal and bounced back onto the pitch. Cannock appealed to the umpires but the original decision stood. Rightly so Cannock came off the pitch disappointed but can take a lot of positives from the game considering they lost 10-0 to them in the 1st half of the season.

Cannock L5s 2 - 2 Lichfield 6s
Cannock Ladies 5ths welcomes Lichfield 6ths (3rd in the league) to an exceptionally cold Cannock club. It was touch and go as to whether the game would go ahead but the weather broke giving us the opportunity to start. Lichfield started strongly and were rewarded with a goal. Cannock faught back hard but unfortunately a second goal conceded not long after.
Not giving up Cannock attacked back and were rewarded with a great goal from Emma Thomas shortly followed by another from Captain Mandy McColl going into half time 2-2. The winds and cold hampered the game considerably as frozen fingers meant many wayward balls. Both teams struggled as blizzard conditions in the second half slowed the game down.
Cannock put up a great fight in both defence and attack managing to capitalise on the few chances they had. It was a great result for Cannock 5ths as they were beaten last time 8-1. Lichfield voted Kim McColl as their player and Cannock voted captain Mandy McColl as their player.
