Volunteers Information
Volunteering Info - How you can help Cannock Hockey Club
Many of the Cannock members work to make Cannock Hockey Club a successful club, and the club could not run without its volunteers. Other than through the provision of professional coaching the club is managed and governed on a voluntary basis by its members.
There are a number of volunteer positions within Cannock, most noticeably the committee, the coaching team, team managers, umpires, team captains, fund raising/event organising and technical delegates and officials.
If you have skill or willingness to assist then please contact any member of the committee.
Recognising Volunteers:
Volunteering in Cannock Hockey club is widely encouraged as an opportunity to contribute to the running of the large successfully club. This is encouraged from an early age, with older members of the junior section encouraged to participate in coaching and umpiring of younger teams.
Support:
The Chair will offer support to the Board, who will offer support to other volunteers. Actions and updates will be communicated at the regular meetings.
Training:
Volunteer coaches and umpires will have the opportunity to gain qualification through approved training courses.
Insurance:
The Club holds its own liability insurance cover but is not able to offer advice, on behalf of the Club or its Sections, on its suitability to individuals’ circumstances. We would therefore recommend that all volunteer coaches and umpires seek advice from an accredited insurance advisor.
Volunteer Recognition:
It is the aim of the committee to organise events where the recognition of the volunteers can be acknowledged.
