Board and Club Contacts
Over the last 12 months we have made a number of changes to the Board of Cannock Hockey Club.. We're always interested in people who have an interest in the game or the community and want to make a difference to the Club. If you want to know what you can do to add value or volunteer then just ask a member of the Board, Team Captain or member of the Junior Training Team.
Whether your male or female, 8 or 80, an international athlete, playing your first game of hockey or a parent or guardian that wants to help with the running of your club you will find all of the people that you will get to know, and that will get to know you included below!

5th Team CaptainPlayed at school as a forward (really!) but started playing seriously in 1985 as a keeper for Culm Vale HC in Devon (now Exeter and Culm Vale Hornets)
Played at college in Bath whilst training to teach but we only had a mixed side so also turned out for Bath Buccaneers HC and City of Bath HC. Severe knee injury, marriage and moving to the Midlands meant I didn't play for nearly 13 years.Moved to Cannock in 2002 and started bringing my daughter Laurie to training aged 4. After a few sessions, Phil Gooderham got talking to me and with the words "What do you mean- you USED to be a keeper?" conned me into playing again.
He then got me coaching and I've coached the U8/9/10 age group since then. Regretfully, I have been forced to step down from coaching due to pressure of work.Have played in every team from 2nds (in a friendly when they were obviously VERY short) to 9ths.
My daughter Laurie and my son Cameron are both skilful players who obviously inherit their hockey playing ability from the milkman...
Also known for my excessively long but brilliantly written match reports. The 2014-15 season saw a new me, having lost about 6 stone and grown a beard. I took over captaincy of the 7ths partway through the season. The side is a mixture of youth and experience, giving the youngsters their first taste of competitive league hockey. We are never an easy side to beat and our grit and determination ensured we remained in the MRHA Central League (NW1). New players and using what we learned last season should lead to a productive 2015-16 term.
