Sports Volunteer Event
INCLUDES FREE TRAINING!
Thinking about volunteering? Already an existing volunteer?
The only thing we need is your enthusiasm and time.
From coaching to fundraising and promoting opportunities, there's a role for you as a sports volunteer with ‘Join In Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent’.
Date: 5th July 2014
Time: 12-2pm
Venue: Northwood Stadium, Keelings Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 6PA
Cost: FREE!
We are holding the volunteer support and recruitment event to launch the new County Sports Partnership volunteer programme Join In Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. At the event you can find more information and enjoy free training sessions, including:
- How to Coach Disabled People in Sport- An official Sports Coach UK workshop (certificate included) that aims to answer the commonly asked questions about disabled sports participants and it will show you how, with a few minor adjustments to the way you work, you can make your coaching more inclusive and effective.
- Fitness- a general workshop with ideas on how to train your participants and increase their fitness levels (you have the choice to take part practically in this workshop).
- Cash for Club Development- Tips for effective funding applications.
From treasurers to marketing, from event planners to tea and coffee makers, without the help of volunteers, Sport just would not happen.
Whether you are already volunteering or are interested in becoming a volunteer, there are some fantastic opportunities for you including accessing free or discounted qualifications and training by being part of Join in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. You can also benefit from:
- A reward scheme to recognise the valuable contribution you make to sport in the community.
- Funding opportunities for sports coaching qualifications.
- Funding opportunities for workshops on Safeguarding and Protecting Children and First Aid.
- Funding opportunities to support your local sports clubs
- Opportunities to make new friends learn new skills and have fun.
- Regular opportunities to learn new skills with other volunteers and learn from their experience
Volunteers needn’t be experts in a specific field, but must be 16+
