New Men's Club Captain Announced
Posted by Ian Gardner on 29 September 2017
Radda has played hockey since childhood, at various levels, including playing for clubs in the Midlands and the North East. Radda found his way into the Cannock fold via coaching the Juniors indoor hockey at Lilleshall. He made the decision to move to Cannock, knowing that he would be at one of the biggest and most respected clubs in the UK. Many of you will have already come across Radda as a player and regular umpire at the Club, in addition to him being our National League Liaison representative.
Radda said, ‘I have been involved with the management of the club, through the committee, for a number of years to help move the club forward, assisting with the National League squad as liaison officer and now as the ‘Club Captain’. I will endeavour to do my best for the club and I am honoured to be Club Captain. Moving forward and developing the core strength of players throughout the club is important to me. Creating club unison, having everyone pulling in the same direction and helping others to help themselves is key. We are a club that needs the experience of all, both on and off the pitch…it is not just for a few to do everything, it is for us all to do or bit and take responsibility.’
Radda will support all players from the 1st team through to the badgers. As Club Captain he will guide players of all ages, manage expectations, provide advice and mentor where needed.
Ian Gardner, Joint Chairman of the Men’s Hockey Club said ‘Radda has a long connection with Cannock Men’s Hockey club. His ability to communicate with players at all levels and provide them with personal advice is crucial for the club to develop players, for us to remain competitive and ensure Cannock continues to be a fun club to play hockey. Radda will make an excellent Club Captain and we look forward to making Cannock a stronger club with Radda leading from the front.’
