Jeevan Dhanda
Posted by Nobody on 14 August 2014
It is with deep sadness that we have to announce that, one of our members, Jeevan Dhanda passed away earlier this week.
Jeevan was a lifelong member of Cannock Men’s Hockey Club and a very polite and intelligent young man. Notwithstanding his ability on a hockey field he is the sort of member who we, rightly, should be very proud of. Naturally, we are sure all of your thoughts will be with him, his family and his closest friends at this difficult time.
We are aware that this sad news is now becoming more common knowledge within our membership. However, Jeev’s family have requested that they are given time to come to terms with their loss so we would ask that we respect their wishes.
In the meantime, we will be making arrangements for our members to pay their respects in a number of ways.
The first will be a book of condolence which will be available on the table outside the reception entrance at the club from this weekend, and the second will be an area to lay flowers and other items of respect behind the dugout of the main hockey pitch at the club. Finally, we have taken the decision to retire Jeev’s playing shirt and number, fifty five (55), with immediate effect.
It goes without saying that this is a sad day in the history of Cannock Hockey Club and we are in discussions with England Hockey and NSPCC around the support that can be given to our members during this difficult time.
Thanks
Cannock Hockey Club Committee
