Cannock M1 3 - 3 Barton M1
This was another demonstration of the grit and determination this young Cannock side are developing a reputation for. An early strike from Harry Jawanda saw the Chase Park club take a well deserved lead against Barton, however he was denied a second moments later, when his flick from a corner was judged not to have been trapped outside the circle. Not to be outdone, Cannock pressed hard to extend their lead with a vicious reserve strike from Jordan Joiner being well saved by the Barton keeper and a further from Callum Swinnerton again denied by the keeper. Barton grabbed an equaliser on a counter attack and the game changed in nature with the young Cannock side being on the receiving end of some physical tackles.
In the second half the physicality continued as Barton took and then extended their lead to 3 -1 before Jordan joiner grabbed Cannock’s second. In the dying minutes of the game, following sustained pressure from Cannock, Harry Jawanda hit back to equalise and then following two over time short corners, Cannock were awarded a penalty. Unfortunately, the Barton ‘keeper pulled off a fine save to deny them the winner.

Tough day saw a battling Cannock 5s side lose 4-0 to Sutton Coldfield 6s.

Cannock L1 1 - 1 Leamington
Cannock L2s 0 - 6
Cannock started under pressure and went down 1-0 within the first 5 minutes. Cannock's defence continued to endure some sustained Loughborough attacking play and saw themselves 5-0 down at half time.
It was difficult to compete with a strong, extensive Loughborough squad. Second half Cannock defended with determination and were commended by the umpires for a strong and resilient defensive display.
Cannock L3 0 - 0 Stafford L1s
Cannock ladies 3s played a tense home match against Stafford ladies 1s on Saturday. It was a very competitive fixture with pressure at both ends of the pitch. Cannock had lots of positive attacking play and short corners but unfortunately all attempts were kept out from the feisty and determined Stafford defence.
Cannock too were put under pressure several times in the game with shots on target and lots of deflections from Stafford. However, man of the match, our goalkeeper, Charlotte played an awesome game to keep them out. Overall a 0-0 draw felt like a fair reflection of the game and it was a great team performance from Cannock where everyone contributed significantly to the game.
MOM - Charlotte Eyre
