Cannock Appoint New Coach

Cannock Hockey Club is pleased and excited to announce the appointment of Gary Stacey as Head Coach. Primarily Gary, who has already worked within the Junior Section and 2nd Team, will take charge of the 1st XI squad, but will also oversee the development of the whole club which includes our talented juniors section ensuring players progression within the various club teams is measured and controlled.
Gary has a vast amount of experience in coaching at all levels and has been at the vanguard of coaching at Hockey England junior performance centres. Cannock having lost their position as a National League side together with a number of players from last year’s squad are now looking to rebuild and regain their position within the top tier of National Hockey at the earliest opportunity.
A major factor in the appointment of Gary was his determination to build the team around the current talent pool of home bred Cannock players – many of which have achieved honours at junior and senior levels. The executive committee have pledged their support for Gary and see this appointment as crucial to the future wellbeing of the Club and its future development. Gary starts his pre-season programme this coming Wednesday evening (6th July) at our home of Chase Park. The hard work is ahead but with an exciting group of hungry and young players anything is possible.
