Cannock U18 Boys 2  – 2  Telford & Wrekin U18 Boys

Cannock win after Sudden Death (PS)

29th November 2009

Scorer(s): TBC

Cannock U18s travelled to Telford & Wrekin in the third round of the England Hockey Cup full of confidence after a comfortable passage through in the previous round.

There hopes of another easy win were soon dashed as Telford proved to be tough opponents in what proved to be a very bad tempered match.

It was a shame that such a close game of hockey was turned sour by some distruption from a rather 'loud' and 'unhelpful' home support, this was a game hockey where no player on the pitch was older than 18 and this was not example to be setting to them as players or people in general.

Goals from TBC saw the game finish 2-2 and brought the famous penalty flick competition of which Cannock U18s are famously unsuccessful at and after that couldn't part the sides it went to sudden death. This saw captain and 1st Team squad member Nick Bandurak score and Telford miss, which meant victory and cup progress for Cannock.

Again, it was very sad that an enjoyable day was spolit by some ' unnessacary' behavoiur.
