Cannock U16s and U14s

Pre-Season Triangular Tournament for Juniors!

Cannock U14s vs Wycombe U14s vs Canterbury U14s

Following on from last weeks Triangular Tournament at Repton Cannock U14s were again in action this weekend in another Triangular Tournament involving Canterbury and Wycombe.  They made the long journey to the magnificent training facility that is Bisham Abbey and started the day with a guided tour from Coach Rob Davies.

Although five of the younger members from last years winning squad are with the U14s this year, the remainder are new to this level of competition.  In comparison it was obvious that Canterbury, whose team were all aged 13 and at the top end of their age group, had been playing as a unit for some time, and the same could be said to a lesser extent, about Wycombe.

In spite of the two defeats, 9-0 against Canterbury and 4-0 against Wycombe, heads did not drop and the team continued playing right to the end of each match.

On behalf of the team we would like to thank the tremendous support from the parents who gave up their day to be at Bisham Abbey and a special mention must go to Jo Bandurak who stepped in as umpire.

Coach Rob Davies has learnt a lot about his players and their attitude and is preparing them for the start of their defence of the Regional Trophy which begins at Lichfield on Sunday 2nd October.
