Cannock 8ths had to make wholesale team changes due to unavailability of players and as a consequence drafted in eight under 15 players into the team for the home game against Lichfield.

Despite the size and age difference to the opposition Cannock dominated the game for long periods and were unlucky not to score early from open play.

The deadlock was finally broken when Middleton scored with 10 mins to half time. The second half was one way traffic and goals came regularly through Chana and Shirwani before Phil Micklewright rounded off a comprehensive victory.

Chris Darnley, Edward Fleet , Simon Wall and Jordan Bosi worked tirelessly in defence and midfield to provide ammunition for clinical finishes from Arjan Chana and Zak Sherwani.

14 year old keeper Jack Hitchens in the Cannock goal was hardly troubled but did everything that was asked of him.
