Meole Brace is known for its frosty reception to visitors, and Saturday was no exception as Cannock made the journey on this bitter Saturday morning.

Cannock went one down early on, but managed to get a goal back from Jack Myatt, who has shone since his elevation from the badgers. After a diagonal run into the D from the left wing, he received the ball and slotted it home under the keeper from about 8 yards out.

Again the visitors went behind, but they kept battling, and a second goal game from the industrious Hodgetts in his first game for a month.

With the scores level, Cannock had the chances to take the lead, but a five minute spell of Kamikaze defending allowed the home team to put the game beyond Cannock's reach.

A late goal from Karl Owen want little consolation in a game that Cannock probably played the better hockey and created more chances, but failed to capitalise.
