Cannock 6ths won their first game of the season after an entertaining game against a spirited Worcester side. Cannock began the game well with the Worcester goalkeeper making several good saves before Cannock made the break through.

A good short corner routine resulted in Richard Whitehouse getting his second goal in as many games to put the home side one up.

After continued pressure, Cannock found their second goal from another short corner, which ended with an instinctive finish on the reverse from Alex Hill. At this point Cannock were well in the ascendancy and were playing some fluent hockey, a suberb pass by David Mayer found Alex Hill and he netted his second of the day with a clinical finish in the bottom corner.

With Cannock dominating, the fourth goal was not long in coming, with Alex Shepherd working well to provide Nick Middleton with a goal. Cannock believed the game was over and relaxed, allowing Worcester to score three quick goals to provide an exciting finish to the game. The 6th team steadied however and their first victory of the season was recorded.
