Cannock 6ths went away to Edgbaston and lost a very close game to an experienced side. Cannock controlled the early stages but found themselves two goals down after some poor defending.

Midfielders Wheldon and Hill worked hard down the flanks and Cannock fought their way back into the game, with Whitehouse finishing off a good move after some good work by Bloomer. Minutes later, Cotterill equalised with a thunderous short corner strike.

After getting themselves into the game, Cannock let themselves down by conceding another two goals either side of half time, which in effect finished the game. Despite trrying hard to get back into the game the score remained 4 - 2.
