Cannock 5th XI 9 - 3 Sutton Coldfield 5th XI Scorer(s): C Bolt 6, R Moscatiello 2, T Butler As the season starts to reach its climax Cannock are now coming into some fine form and outclassed a Sutton Coldfield side who were never really in the game. An incredible double hatrick from Chris Bolt, two goals for the fine Raff Moscatiello and an superb short corner from veteran Tim Butler completed the scoring, the only negative for Cannock was that they conceded three sloppy goals. Cannock 5th XI 8 - 2 North Staffs 4th XI Scorer(s): T Butler 4, C Bolt 3, A Hodgetts Cannock played some excellent passing hockey and were very comfortable for most of the game. Possibly some of the best hockey they have played all season. Most of the goals were simple 1 - 2 passing or pass and move ending with Butler and Bolt passing into an open goal a few yards out from either post. Two of the goals were very quick moves over 50+ yards with 5 or 6 quick passes. Cannock could easily have scored 5 or 6 more goals with balls not controlled as they were put across the face of goal. Cannock's 2nd goal was the most spectacular, Bolt picked up outside top D and went past a couple of players as he dribbled round the D and then hitting a screamer of a shot from about 45 degrees putting the ball right in the top left corner of the goal. If the 5ths can continue this rich vein of form they should be able to win their remaining games and finish in the top 2 places. |
