A slightly changed and less experienced Cannock side went to Edgbaston on the back of six straight wins.

After an even start Cannock went behind after some poor defending, a missed foot by the umpire caught the Cannock defence napping and Edgbaston capitalised to take the lead.

Cannock responded with some decent pressure but then found themselves 2-0 down after another defensive lapse. The second saw Cannock try in vain to get back in the game but to no avail.

The game finished at 2-0 and left Cannock licking their wounds. It was perhaps a wake-up call that there is no room for complacency in this division.
