A vastly improving Cannock side came up against high-flying Sutton Coldfield in a game right a the top of the table.

Cannock who have been steadily improving over the last couple of weeks began with pace, power and some great hockey and went into the break at 2-0 without really being troubled, thanks to two good short corner routines finished off both by Andy Broome.

At the start of the second half Sutton Coldfield hit back with a quick goal to make it 2-1 and minutes after that Cannock went down to 10 men after Phil Allen was yellow carded, at this point Cannock were under deep pressure, however, they overcame that pressure with some good concentration and when Allen came back on they went on to score 3 more goals to make it 5-1 thanks to another two from Broome and the last from the hard-working Tim Butler.

With the game all but over Cannock let Sutton Coldfield score a second however, they still picked up another win which was thoroughly deserved.
