Cannock 4ths travelled to face Central League title chasing Birmingham University 4ths and found themselves overmatched.

The students led 2-0 at the break and although Cannock pulled it back to 2-1 through a Clarke Drew penalty corner, Birmingham went on to score twice more and earn a deserved 4-1 victory.
