Cannock 4th XI 3 - 1 Worcester 4th XI Scorer(s): G Bloomer, A Broome, R Jones The fourth team were looking to avenge their defeat last week on their trip to Worcester. Worcester 4ths were in no mood to lie down and tackled 'robustly' in the opening exchanges. Cannock were put off their stride by the tackling and struggled to string any decent possession together. Eventually, Cannock started to dominate the play and pressured the Worcester goal on numerous occasions, only to be thwarted by some outrageous goalkeeping. Against the run of play, Worcester took the lead when poor defence from Cannock led to a penalty corner that was finished off in the corner. Cannock levelled before the break when Jamie Daniels drilled the ball into the heart of the 'D', Greg Bloomer getting the deflection into the net. Worcester flagged in the second half, with chances limited to hopeful long balls and aerials, but Cannock worked tirelessly (not before time) and were rewarded when Dan Bosi passed the ball into the 'D' for Daniels to slip the ball across the goal for Andy Broome to finish off. Cannock rounded off their day with a rocket from Richard Jones into the top corner, where even the cat like Worcester goalkeeper could not save it. |
