Cannock entertained a strong Birmingham team and although performing well found themselves 1-0 down at halftime after a snap shot on the turn flew fortuitously into the top corner. The home side were the then frustrated by several excellent saves from the students 'keeper as well as some poor short corner routines.

Birmingham Uni doubled their advantage with a breakaway goal and Cannock were unable to get back into the game. The visitors added two more breakaway goals late on to make the final score 4-0 which, although overly harsh on Cannock, underlined their dominance.
