Cannock 4th XI   3 - 1   Leek 5th XI

Scorer(s): R Jones 2, D Beck

Cannock's visit to Leek was the expected tough game, with the home team not giving any quarter.

For the first twenty minutes, Cannock paid Leek too much respect and allowed them to control the midfield. This culminated in one of Leek's players being allowed to carry the ball over 30 yards into the heart of the Cannock defence, before a clumsy back stick in the D gifted the home side a goal from the resulting penalty stroke.

A change in formation allowed Bradbury to tighten up the midfield and Cannock started to dominate the game. Sayer, in his first game for the 4ths, made some excellent runs down the right wing, and this pressure eventually brought the first Cannock goal from Jones. A further goal from Jones from a short corner put Cannock into a deserved lead.

The rest of the game was spent in the Leek half, and numerous chances went begging before Beck made it 3-1.
