Cannock 4ths travelled to Notts Uni, hoping to avenge the 6-4 defeat from last season. This turned out not to be the case as Cannock slumped to a 6-2 defeat that highlighted some deficiencies within the team.

Cannock started brightly enough but Nottingham's pace and movement caused some early problems that culminated with a goal for the home side. Cannock revived and at times looked to have the beating of Nottingham with some crisp passing. Bolt equalised for Cannock, but Nottingham got a goal before the break to lead 2-1 at half time.

The first ten minutes of the second half showed the type of hockey Cannock can play as they pressed the Nottingham defences, Drew scored to keep Cannock in the game, but they could not maintain the pressure and became stretched and increasingly isolated in their efforts.

Nottingham continued to force errors and ran out comfortable winners 6 - 2.

Cannock 4ths must have a long hard look at themselves and the team if they are to have any impact in this division.
