Cannock 3rd XI  8 - 2   Beeston 3rd XI

Scorer(s): J Roberts 3, C Mayer 2, E Martin 2, N Bandurak

Cannock completed the first half of the season in emphatic style with an 8-2 defeat of Beeston. Going into the game both teams were only separated by goal difference at the summit of the table. Despite this fact the game as the score line suggests was a very one-sided affair. Cannock dominated from the out set and found themselves three goals to the good inside the first 10 minutes with two goals for Roberts and one from Mayer.

Cannock continued in that fashion and went in at halftime 5-0 up with further goals from Nick Bandurak and Ed Martin. At half-time Cannock spoke about the importance of the next goal and prepared for the Beeston pressure that would inevitably come.

The second half was again started brightly by Cannock and another goal was soon chalked up by Roberts, completing his second hat-trick in successive games. Beeston managed a consolation goal before the impressive Chris Mayer got a second and Ed Martin scored two further goals to make the score 8-1. The game was effectively over at this point but both teams continued to attack the game in the only way they know how.

A goal on the final whistle of the game for Beeston made the final score 8-2. Cannock go into the Christmas break top of the league with Barford Tigers the next competitive fixture in the new year.
