Cannock 3rd XI 8 - 0 Barford Tigers 3rd XI Scorer(s): T Harrison 4, D Mayer, J Roberts, P Watkins, N Bandurak Cannock 3rd XI bounced back from the disappointment of the fixture seven days previous with a confident 8-0 win against Barford Tigers. Tom Harrison opened Cannocks account with a low flicked penalty corner, which was to be the first of four goals he scored from the left-back position, capping an impressive display. Although the result was never in doubt Cannock suffered an early blow with Whitehouse leaving the pitch bent double due to the exploits of a Chinese meal the night before. Up stepped David Mayer and his tactical knowledge gave Cannock the extra impetus required. At the interval the score stood at 3-0 with the half-time talk consisting of the need for extra effort working into good positions off the ball. This was actioned in the 2nd half with five further goals from Harrison, Mayer, Roberts, Watkins and Bandurak. Cannock will need to take this type of attacking hockey with them on their travels this season beginning next week at Loughborough Town. |
