Cannock 3rd XI 2 - 6 Beeston 3rd XI Scorer(s): S Mee, P Watkins Cannock got off to a poor start in this game conceding an early goal, with Beeston continuing to dominate proceedings for much of the first half but only managing to score one further goal. Towards the end of the half Cannock began to show some of their league winning ability and won a succession of short corners resulting in a goal scored by Paul Watkins from a well practiced routine. HT 2-1. Cannock began the 2nd half brightly and got their reward with an equalising goal from Sam Mee by virtue of a neat dribble and reverse stick finish. Poor discipline from both sides gave extra space on the pitch which was utilised by Beeston, who went on to score four further goals and record a convincing victory. This Cannock side are not used to losing matches and now have to pick their heads up and look to chalk up a victory on home soil next weekend. |
