How to join Cannock Ladies Hockey Club

We look to develop our own talent through our extensive junior section, but we also welcome players of all ages and abilities, whether you are interested in playing for the first team, or perhaps you are more interested in playing competitive yet social hockey lower down the club.

Whether you have never played hockey before, whether you are returning to hockey after a break, or whether you are a junior or senior international looking for a club environment in which to perfect your skills and work towards your representative ambitions we hope to be able to meet your needs.

To join Cannock Ladies Hockey Club you will need to complete a membership form and pay an annual membership fee.

Download and complete our membership form and return it to us.

1. E-Mail it to us

Complete a soft copy version of the form and e-mail it to Joining Cannock Ladies and we'll acknowledge receipt and send your further information on the trial and training, contacts within the club and who you can expect to welcome you.

2. Bring it to the Open Day

Print off a copy of the form and bring it with you to the Open Day.

Saturday 8th September 11:00 - 13:00 (registration from 10:30)

Information

You will need to bring yourself and your kit. The open day will consist of a series of games and training.

You will be a charged a match fee to cover pitch costs for the day.

3. Bring it to Training

If you cannot make the open day, you can always print off a copy of the form and bring it with you a general training session and hand it to the Chairperson (Clare Harrington).

As a new member, you have 6 weeks after joining to decide if Cannock is the right club for you.

What happens after you join?

The Club Captain will get in touch and welcome you to the club. If you have attended the trial you will be included in selection and contacted by your team captain when you have been placed in an initial team. If you have e-mailed you form in or come along for training then we will welcome you at a general training session and place you in a team at the next possible selection meeting.

Please note that all new members are expected to start in a team not higher than the sixth where they will be assessed for a few weeks before progression through the club.

Why should you choose Cannock?

  • We have a large and friendly clubhouse
  • We provide organised training sessions for players of all abilities.
  • We have an international standard water based pitch. We also have plans to lay another water based pitch.
  • We have a wide range of ages in a our membership offering a full youth section all the way to Veterans and Vintage hockey
  • We have a mixed side that is very sociable, that plays in the Mixed Cup and also organises festivals throughout the year.
  • We have a range of fun social events including an Awards Dinner at the end of season and other Club nights as standard.
  • With both the Ladies and Men's teams in the Slazenger English Hockey League there are regular opportunities to watch hockey at the highest domestic level.
  • We host domestic and European finals and international matches so there is often the opportunity to watch some of the best players in England, Europe and the World play on the pitch where you train.
  • Even if you do not want to play, you can still get actively involved in the organisation and administration of the club.
  • With several junior internationals in the club we have a proven track record of developing elite players without neglecting our other players.
  • With weekly selection meetings, your progress is monitored closely and captains provide feedback so you won't get stuck in a team and will have every opportunity to progress if you want to.
