Juniors brave weather to raise money for pitch

Nov 18

A freezing cold and very wet Sunday morning didn't deter about 40 of Cannock's Juniors from turning out to try and raise money for the club's new TigerTurf pitch. Players aged from 4 to 18 years took part in a variety of hockey skills activities organised by the Junior coaching team.

The Men's National League squad came along to lend their support, giving the Juniors a real lift in miserable conditions, offering advice and encouragement and even taking part in some of the drills!

Everyone worked really hard and were a real credit to the club. Now begins the task of collecting in the sponsor money! A special mention must go to the large number of parents who didn't take the soft option of sheltering in the bar, but braved the elements to support their children.

Any sponsor money can be handed in to "The Girls" who collect training fees on a Thursday evening.
