Junior festival a success Nov 04 Cannock hosted one of the Staffs junior festivals on Sunday and played host to teams from Wolverhampton, Kingswinford and Stone HC. Under 9's Report Cannock fielded two Under 9 sides in this Staffs Mini Festival and were looking forward to the opportunity to put their skills into practice against sides from Wolverhampton, Stone and Kingswinford. Unfortunately, Cannock's fearsome reputation obviously went before them, as none of the other clubs sent an Under 9 side to play! This meant that the 2 Cannock sides were left to compete against each other in three fast paced, competitive encounters. All the players enjoyed the chance to play on a larger pitch and in less crowded conditions than they are used to training in. As a result, everyone began to get more used to the extra space and make use of it, developing some excitng and skilful play. Special thanks should go to the parents who gave up their Sunday morning to support their children, even in the absence of "real" opposition. Cannock now look forward to the next Mini-Festival on Sunday 2nd December against Streetly, Kingswinford and Leek, to again be played at Cannock.
