Cannock Juniors have a long and proud history, but we are mindful of the need to evolve to ensure we can provide the correct environment for both the current group of children and for future generations. Our newly formed committee will build on the good work previously done and continue to develop the junior section into the best setup in the Country.

There are many challenges ahead, including the introduction of the Single System, England Hockey's vision of Long Term Athlete Development (further details can be found on the England Hockey website).

We do not want to do this in isolation though and we welcome input, advice and help from other Clubs who share the same philosophy.

We plan to develop close links with local schools through the South Staffordshire School Sport Partnership, and have already run several classroom sessions in Primary schools in the Cannock area. We have also agreed to link with Birmingham University as part of their bid to become one of England Hockey's National Performance Centre.

These links will ensure that children will have a clear pathway from junior hockey through to (hopefully) further education hockey with Club hockey being the consistent link.
