In 2005, Cannock H.C. celebrated its centenary with its most successful year ever, winning the English League, Cup and Super Cup as well as gaining a silver medal in the European Cup Winners Cup in Lille.
Cannock won their place in the First Division of the National League in 1989 and have been present ever since. The early years were testing as the club embarked on a steep learning curve, culminating in winning the National League title in 1995. Since then Cannock have gone on to win the league eight times, including four consecutive titles from 2003 – 2006. In the same period, Cannock have achieved three H.A. Cup wins, two Super Cup successes and two silver medals in the European Cup Winners Cup.
Currently Cannock field nine Men’s League teams and six Ladies sides. The club’s juniors have enjoyed success at National level both indoors and outdoors. The elder statesmen have just secured their second consecutive victory in the Vintage Plate competition. The Ladies Hockey Club have recently secured promotion to the National League after several years of rapid development.
After moving the present site in 1991, Cannock have developed a large sports complex, accommodating cricket, bowls, tennis and football as well as hockey.
